2013-2014 ︎ Residência

A convite do projeto Xerém Cultural, a plataforma Lastro realizou uma residência curatorial de dois meses em Lisboa, além de visitas as cidades do Porto, Évora e Cascais. A pesquisa teve como foco o estudo acerca das articulações locais no campo artístico, cultural e social ao pensar as inúmeras migrações provindas de países lusófonos. A residência marca o início de uma nova frente de estudos à qual mais recentemente a plataforma se dedica: as inter-relações culturais entre regiões de língua portuguesa em África, América e Ásia – povos condicionados por um histórico colonial de bases semelhantes –, com o objetivo de alcançar um maior entendimento sobre os processos de trauma e cura continuamente compartilhados ao longo dos tempos. Tal recorte compreende os países Moçambique, Angola, Cabo Verde, Ilha de São Tomé e Príncipe, Timor Leste, bem como Macau (China) e Goa (Índia). A residência em Portugal gerou ramificações, como um convite para realizar uma palestra em Paris (França) e uma viagem ao Marrocos, passando pelas cidades de Tânger, Fez, Meknès, Chefchaouen e Marrakech.

Invited by the project Xerém Cultural, the Lastro platform took part in a two-month long curatorial residency in Lisbon, including visits to Porto, Évora, and Cascais. The research focused on the study of local articulations in the artistic, cultural, and social fields, thinking about the numerous migrations that have come from Portuguese-speaking countries. The residency marks the beginning of a new study front to which the platform, more recently, has become dedicated to: the cultural inter-relations between regions of Portuguese language in Africa, America, and Asia — people conditioned by a colonial history of similar grounds —, with the goal of reaching a greater understanding about processes of trauma and cure, continually shared throughout time. The framework includes countries such as Mozambique, Angola, Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe, East Timor, as well as Macau (China) and Goa (India). The residency in Portugal generated ramifications, such as an invitation to give a talk in Paris (France) and a trip to Morocco, passing through the cities of Tangier, Fez, Meknes, Chefchaouen, and Marrakesh.
